In a humanitarian effort led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan has evacuated 100 wounded Palestinian women and children, along with their companions. The operation, conducted in cooperation with the Ministries of Health of Uzbekistan and Palestine, was confirmed by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Cairo, Mansurbek Kilichev.

The evacuation took place on December 26, following Mirziyoyev’s initiative to provide medical aid to victims of the ongoing conflict. The evacuees will receive treatment and rehabilitation in Uzbekistan until they can safely return to their homeland. Ambassador Kilichev stated that the Palestinian guests would be accommodated in hospitals and rehabilitation centers, with full access to necessary services such as housing, food, and education during their stay.

This initiative follows Mirziyoyev’s earlier commitment, made at an extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit on November 11, to offer free medical care to Palestinian women and children affected by the war. In response to inquiries from QALAMPIR.UZ, Deputy Minister of Health Elmira Basitkhanova confirmed that Uzbekistan's healthcare system is well-prepared to handle the influx of patients and has sufficient capacity to provide the necessary care.

The evacuation underscores Uzbekistan’s ongoing commitment to international humanitarian efforts and solidarity with Palestine during a time of crisis.
