The ambassador of Uzbekistan to the USA is appointed as the ambassador to Canada on the basis of deputation

The ambassador of Uzbekistan to the USA, Furkat Sidikov, has been appointed as the ambassador of the republic to Canada, with his office in Washington, based on deputation. This information was reported by the "Dunyo" agency.

In May, Furkat Sidikov presented his credentials to President Joe Biden as the ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States. In October, he also submitted his credentials for the position of the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Brazil (with his office in Washington).

For information, Furkat Sidikov was born on February 7, 1971, in Tashkent. In 1993, he graduated from Tashkent State Technical University. He held various positions, including chief specialist (1993−1995), senior researcher, and leading researcher (1995−2002, 2007−2011) at the Institute of Strategic and Regional Research under the President in the joint venture "UzDaewoo Electronics."

He also served as an attaché (2002-2007) and first secretary of the embassy (2011-2015) at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the USA. From 2015 to 2020, he held the position of ambassador of Uzbekistan in Pakistan at the same embassy.

Since November 14, 2022, he has been working as the first deputy minister of foreign affairs. He is fluent in Russian and English, and he is married with four children.

It is worth noting that Javlon Vakhabov has been serving as the ambassador of Uzbekistan to the USA since October 10, 2017.
