According to "NBC News," a cross-border group involved in bringing migrants from Uzbekistan to the United States is suspected of links to ISIS.

The US Department of Homeland Security stated that the group primarily smuggled migrants, not terrorists, into the country, facilitating over 400 Central Asian citizens' entry. However, another affiliated criminal organization was blacklisted in mid-2023 for connections to ISIS, prompting the suspects' addition to a watch list.

Most of the 400-plus migrants brought to the US were reportedly from Uzbekistan. There is no evidence suggesting these immigrants have plans for terrorism in the US, but immigration authorities have detained over 150 and have yet to locate over 50.

The US government has recently scrutinized immigrants from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, and Russia. Legal proceedings will determine the fate of thousands of immigrants from these nations in the US.

"NBC News" reported, “Individuals detained or deported in the US have faced immigration charges, but as of now, no one has been charged with terrorism-related offenses.”

Previously, the US imposed sanctions on Uzbeks involved with ISIS. Additionally, President Joe Biden has initiated efforts to offer potential citizenship to hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants in the United States.
