Most Uzbek students in Russia are pursuing engineering and technical specialties, as announced by Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Russia, at a press conference.

The deputy minister reported that over 8,600 students from Uzbekistan are studying economics, more than 2,000 are studying law, about 4,000 are studying management, 2,600 are studying medicine, and 1,800 are studying pedagogy. Additionally, in 2024, over 50,000 Uzbek citizens graduated from Russian higher educational institutions, and about 8,000 graduated from branches of these institutions in Uzbekistan.

He also noted that most of the foreign branches of Russian higher education institutions are located in Uzbekistan, with 14 branches in the republic.
