Currently, the Taekwondo WT World Championships are being held in Guadalajara, Mexico. In the battles on 18 November, representatives of Uzbekistan entered the competition for medals.
It is noteworthy that Niyaz Polatov from Uzbekistan, who participated in the -63 kg weight category, defeated the representatives of Azerbaijan, Egypt, Iran, Croatia, and Spain and reached the finals. In the decisive match, Polatov lost to Chinese Liang Yushuai and won the silver medal at the World Championship.
For information, so far, the number of medals won by representatives of Uzbekistan in the tournament is four. Before that, Nikita Rafalovich and Feruza Sodikova won the bronze medals in the World Cup, while Svetlana Osipova won the gold medal in the competition.
