Yesterday, on the 23rd May, the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation announced the sudden passing of Aida Hasanova, the renowned athlete and chief referee of the federation, at the age of 39.

According to reports from the press service of the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation, it is believed that the athlete suffered a shock due to the administration of incorrect medication during a cosmetic procedure.  Subsequently, Hasanova was admitted to the 16th city hospital, where she tragically passed away at around 19:00 P.M.

Born on the 4th of August 1983, in Tashkent, Aida Hasanova was a fencing master and had an impressive record in her sport.  She secured victory in the national championship from 2001 to 2006, and in 2005, she emerged as the champion in an international tournament held in England.

In 2014, Aida made history as the first Uzbekistani to become an international fencing judge for three different weapon categories.  Since then, she has served as a judge for the International Fencing Federation.

Aida Hasanova also had the distinction of being the first expert from Central Asia selected as a referee for fencing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.  Her skills and expertise led her to be recognized as one of the top five fencing judges in the world.

The Uzbekistan Fencing Federation conveyed their heartfelt condolences, stating, "Aida has left behind a lasting legacy in the fencing community.  She will forever live on in the hearts of those who love this sport."

In addition to this news, it is important to note the passing of blogger Farhod Mannopov, also known as "Mittivine," earlier this year on the 5th of March.  At the age of 27, Mannopov sustained head and nose injuries while swimming with friends.  As a result, he sought medical attention at the private clinic called "Star Med Center" in Tashkent's Chilonzor district to undergo a nose operation.  The General Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case under Article 116, Part4, Clause "a" (Negligence in performing professional duties), as a thorough investigation involving detailed interrogations, extensive expert examinations, and various other investigative procedures is required to establish a legal conclusion.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health's inspection revealed that the anesthesiologist, resuscitator, plastic surgeon, and laboratory technician involved in Mannopov's operation laced the necessary qualification categories and certificates.
