15-year-old Paralympian from Uzbekistan won a silver medal

A young athlete from Uzbekistan has secured a silver medal in the para-athletics competition at the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics, currently taking place in France.

Shahina Yigitaliyeva, competing in the final of the women's javelin throw in the F46 class, achieved a second-place finish with a throw of 43.12 meters. This notable performance contributes to the delegation’s overall medal count.

As a result, the delegation’s tally has reached 9 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze medals, positioning them 12th overall with a total of 23 medals.

Shahina Yigitalieva is the youngest athlete on the delegation, born on October 16, 2008, making her 15 years old.

Additionally, it is noteworthy that Uchkun Kuronboev from Uzbekistan earned a bronze medal in the para-judo competition at the same Paralympic Games.
