On November 6, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his victory in the U.S. presidential election. The President's press service reported Mirziyoyev’s message, which conveyed his best wishes for Trump’s success in office.

“I am delighted to sincerely congratulate you on your election as President of the United States, and I send you my warmest regards and best wishes,” Mirziyoyev expressed in his congratulatory message.

Mirziyoyev praised Trump’s win as a testament to his experience and capabilities as a politician. “Your decisive victory reaffirms that the American people actively support the programs and plans of a leader as seasoned and skilled as you, especially those aimed at bolstering the United States' global standing and economic strength, while promoting global progress and prosperity.”

The Uzbek President also conveyed his gratitude for the U.S.’s steadfast support of Uzbekistan’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as its consistent backing of the country’s critical reforms.

Mirziyoyev highlighted the strategic partnership that emerged during Trump’s previous presidency, following their successful meetings at the White House in May 2018. “Under your leadership, our countries have developed relations to an unprecedented level. Our political dialogue, rooted in mutual trust, respect, and support, has strengthened further. We have also seen growth in trade, economic, security, military-technical, and humanitarian ties,” he said.

He also noted the significant achievements resulting from active exchanges between high-ranking officials and legislators from both nations. “Our cooperation has reached a new quality and depth as a result of these engagements.”

Emphasizing Uzbekistan’s commitment to maintaining close ties with Trump’s administration, Mirziyoyev affirmed his intention to uphold all agreements reached at the highest levels.

“We fully support the expansion of regional cooperation through the 'C5+1' platform and the 'U.S.-Central Asian States Comprehensive Agreement on Trade and Investment,'” he added.

“I am confident that our partnership will continue to thrive in areas such as diplomacy, trade, security, finance, energy, transport, agriculture, digitalization, innovation, education, and other fields, through new joint projects.”

Mirziyoyev also expressed hope for collaboration on ensuring sustainable peace in Afghanistan and advancing its economic and social development.

“We eagerly await your official visit to Uzbekistan to elevate our longstanding and comprehensive relations to a new level,” Mirziyoyev said in closing.

It is worth noting that other regional leaders, including Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, have also congratulated Trump on his election victory.
