The inflow of money from abroad to Uzbekistan has increased to a record level.

Between January-June 2022, international cross-border remittances received by Uzbekistan amounted to 6.5 billion dollars.  This was reported by the press service under the Central Bank.

According to Central Bank, this is 96% or 3.2 billion dollars more than in the relevant period of 2021.

Between January-June 2022, commercial banks bought foreign currency from individuals in the amount of 5.66 billion US dollars, or 70 percent (2.33 billion dollars) more than in the relevant period of 2021.

In turn, foreign currency in the amount of 3.72 billion dollars was sold to individuals through commercial banks.  This is 85 percent or $1.71 billion more than the relevant period in 2021.
