The identities of the members of the US delegation who will visit Uzbekistan have been disclosed

Earlier, we reported that a US delegation will visit Uzbekistan.  It was informed that the delegation would be headed by the US Assistant Secretary of state for south and central Asian affairs, Donald Lu.  Further information has been provided on the visit of the United States delegation.

According to the press service under the US state department, the delegation also includes representatives of the Pentagon, the White House National Security Council, the US International Development Finance Corporation, and the US Agency for International Development.

The government delegation will also visit Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan between 23-27 May, as well as Uzbekistan.

"A US delegation headed by Donald Lu will visit Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan between 23 -27 May to promote joint efforts to strengthen US relations with the region and create a more prosperous and secure state,”- a statement says.

Within the framework of the forthcoming visit, members of the American delegation will meet with officials, representatives of business, and civil society from those countries.  In addition, bilateral consultations are planned to be held annually «to develop economic ties and strengthen security cooperation» in Tajikistan.
