The import of electric cars to Uzbekistan increases 6 times

During January-October, 22,500 electric cars were imported into Uzbekistan. This is six times more than in the same period last year, as reported by the Customs Committee.
According to the committee, 22,490 electric cars with a total value of $582.3 million were imported during the last 10 months. In 2022, this figure was 3,679.
Additionally, the volume of deliveries has increased thirteenfold. Specifically, 1,749 electric cars worth $55.4 million were imported into Uzbekistan in January-October 2022.
It is worth noting that on October 17, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Van Venin, the chairman of "Amer International" industrial holding, to discuss promising projects for the production of electric cars, electrical engineering, battery batteries for electric cars, microelectronics, and semiconductors.
