4301The Ministry of Justice reported that the importation of precious stones for jewelry in Uzbekistan is now tax-exempt.
The President has signed a law introducing changes and amendments to several legal documents. One such amendment to the Tax Code stipulates that from January 1, 2024, to January 1, 2027, the import of precious stones intended for jewelry production in Uzbekistan will not be subject to value-added tax.
Additionally, profits generated by holiday homes and recreational areas, set up during the off-season for children within trade union-operated children's health camps, will be exempt from profit tax until January 1, 2026.
Furthermore, an amendment to the Law "On Tourism" exempts these holiday homes and recreational areas from mandatory certification as accommodation facilities during the off-season.
This law will take effect on the date of its official publication.
