A young man who spread forbidden religious materials has been sentenced to 6 years in prison

A young man from Kashkadarya, who was found guilty of promoting the materials of religious organizations banned in Uzbekistan, has been sentenced to 6 years in prison. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to reports, while working as a labor migrant in the Russian Federation from 2019 to 2022, a resident of the Yakkabog district in the Kashkadarya region, identified as A.Z., A.B., S.S., M.A., came under the influence of ideological leaders of terrorist organizations and religious extremist movements through the Internet and other people’s lectures. These leaders called for “emigration,” “jihad,” and the establishment of an Islamic state.

Subsequently, he created an Instagram profile on his mobile phone and began distributing materials mixed with fanatical ideas.

He also communicated with representatives of the Hizb ut-Tahrir terrorist organization on the Telegram messenger and promoted materials that aligned with the organization’s ideas, aiming to change the current state system in a manner contrary to the Constitution.

Furthermore, he contacted a promoter of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization on the YouTube network and used a banking application to send money for activating his activities.

Upon returning to Uzbekistan in September 2022, he continued his illegal activities.

As a result of swift search operations conducted by law enforcement officers, his illegal activities were halted. The Yakkabog district court, dealing with criminal cases, found the accused guilty under Articles 155-3, 159, and 244-1 of the Criminal Code, and sentenced him to 6 years in prison.
