11404Uzbekistan’s Defense Industry Agency has developed a new armored military vehicle named "Arslon," built to NATO standards. This was reported by the "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel.
The vehicle can accommodate eight paratroopers and a crew of three. It is a four-axle vehicle with front armor designed to withstand 30mm armor-piercing shells. The side armor can repel bullets up to 4.5mm caliber.
Additionally, the vehicle can protect its crew and troops from explosions of up to 10 kilograms of explosives beneath its hull or wheels. The "Arslon" is equipped with a 30mm automatic cannon and a machine gun, capable of engaging targets at any time of day. The vehicle’s weight ranges from 30 to 35 tons, depending on the configuration.
“This armored personnel carrier was primarily designed to meet NATO standards. It is a national product created in Uzbekistan in collaboration with companies that produce high-quality components,” said Akmal Karimov, a representative of the manufacturing company.
Previously, it was reported that Uzbekistan had begun producing light armored vehicles named "Qalqon."
