6293The number of registered enterprises with foreign investment in Uzbekistan has increased by 1.2 times over the past year, as reported by the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the agency, as of September 1, 2023, the number of registered enterprises with foreign investment in the republic is 17,735. This represents a 1.2-fold increase compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
The number of enterprises registered with foreign investment in the last five years (as of September 1) is as follows:
• 2019: 9,844
• 2020: 11,807
• 2021: 13,590
• 2022: 15,159
• 2023: 17,735
In January-July 2023, the number of newly established enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan reached 1,532.
In terms of countries, Russia leads in the number of newly established enterprises with the participation of foreign capital in Uzbekistan, with 425 such enterprises. China takes second place with 329 enterprises, followed by Turkey in third place with 143 enterprises, which is significantly lower than China's count. Neighboring countries also contribute, with 94 enterprises involving Kazakhstan, 34 involving Kyrgyzstan, 31 involving Turkmenistan, and 24 involving Azerbaijan. The last positions are held by the USA with 22 enterprises and Germany with 17.
