A highly dangerous infectious disease carrier—Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever—has been detected in Uzbekistan, according to the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee.
The disease, which is transmitted through tick bites, poses a serious threat to human life. A representative of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee stressed the importance of taking preventive measures to avoid infection.
In particular, individuals are advised not to remove ticks from livestock by hand or crush them. Instead, if ticks are found on animals, it is recommended to contact regional veterinary departments to ensure proper removal and treatment.
If a tick bites a person, especially during trips to mountainous areas, they should immediately seek medical attention and undergo a professional examination.
When treating patients infected with this disease, medical personnel must wear protective clothing and take strict precautions to avoid contracting the virus themselves.
It is worth noting that earlier, quarantine measures were introduced in the village of Novoselovka, Auliyekul district, in Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region, following an outbreak of brucellosis.
