Wanted Uzbek citizen was detained in Turkey

Robert Vladimirovich Babayans, a 38-year-old man wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan since 2021, has been detained in Turkey and deported to Tashkent. He was wanted on charges of committing several fraud crimes, which caused significant financial harm to citizens.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul reported that Babayans was arrested in Turkey and subsequently returned to Uzbekistan. Victims of his crimes are encouraged to contact the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul or the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan for further assistance.
The report highlighted that measures to track and apprehend individuals wanted in Uzbekistan, who have fled to Turkey, continue to be a priority, with joint efforts aimed at ensuring that criminals face punishment for their actions.
