15151In May, the cheapest plov in Uzbekistan was found in the Namangan region, while the most expensive was in Tashkent city, according to the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The average prices of a single serving of plov in various regions, as reported by the Statistics Agency for May 2024, are as follows:
- Republic of Karakalpakstan – 24,300 soums;
- Andijan region – 24,600 soums;
- Bukhara region – 28,600 soums;
- Jizzakh region – 26,200 soums;
- Kashkadarya region – 27,900 soums;
- Navoi region – 24,400 soums;
- Namangan region – 19,900 soums;
- Samarkand region – 27,300 soums;
- Surkhandarya region – 25,800 soums;
- Syrdarya region – 23,500 soums;
- Tashkent region – 25,400 soums;
- Fergana region – 23,300 soums;
- Khorezm region – 27,600 soums;
- Tashkent city – 30,200 soums.
Prices are recorded at specific times and places by the price registrar, and they can vary depending on these factors. The data reflects the average prices of plov in selected catering establishments (Plov centers), excluding prices in restaurants and cafeterias.
The selection of public catering establishments for recording pilaf prices is updated annually in January. To objectively assess price changes, the price level of the newly observed establishment in the previous period is also recorded.
