A man was sentenced to five days in jail on January 7 in Tashkent for sexually assaulting a flight attendant aboard a flight from Sochi to Tashkent. The court documents were reviewed by QALAMPIR.UZ.

The incident occurred on December 31, 2024, during the flight. Passenger J.E., born in 1985, was intoxicated when he repeatedly grabbed the flight attendant’s side and sexually assaulted her.

In court, J.E. claimed that while he was drunk, he accidentally brushed against the flight attendant while reaching for something that had fallen from his hand. He denied any intent to assault her, expressed remorse, and requested leniency, assuring that such an incident would not happen again.

However, the flight attendant provided a different account. She testified that J.E. had repeatedly touched her inappropriately and groped her while she was working. She stated that she had asked him to stop, but he ignored her requests, hindered her ability to serve other passengers, and continued with his rude behavior. She urged the court to take legal action against him.

The court found J.E. guilty of violating Part 1 of Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Sexual Promiscuity) and sentenced him to five days of administrative detention.

This case follows a similar incident in Tashkent, where a man was imprisoned for threatening to distribute explicit photos of a woman who refused to have sex with him.
