Uzbekistan ratifies agreement on classified information protection with China

2428Uzbekistan and China have ratified an agreement on the mutual protection of classified information. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the corresponding law on November 27.
The agreement, comprising 19 articles, was initially signed on May 18, 2023, in Xi'an, China. Uzbekistan’s State Security Service has been designated the responsible authority for implementing the agreement.
The document outlines measures to ensure the mutual protection of classified information exchanged between the two nations. It establishes protocols for comparing confidentiality levels and defines classifications such as "special importance," "top secret," and "secret" under national laws. Additionally, it clarifies procedures for safeguarding, transferring, and utilizing classified materials.
It is worth noting that the Senate of the Oliy Majlis approved the ratification of this agreement during its 58th plenary session on September 30, 2023.
