Bilateral agreements are signed between Uzbekistan and Italy

At the end of the negotiations between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, a joint statement aimed at further developing strategic partnership and multilateral cooperation between the two countries was adopted. This information was reported by the President's press service.


According to the available information, the following agreements were signed between Uzbekistan and Italy:


•    An intergovernmental agreement on the exemption of holders of diplomatic passports from visa requirements.
•    Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between diplomatic academies.
•    Interagency Memorandum of Understanding on the Development of Public Education.
•    Interdepartmental Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
•    Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of physical education and sports.


It is worth noting that on November 9, the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, visited Uzbekistan accompanied by his daughter, Laura Mattarella. They were welcomed by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov at Tashkent International Airport. On the morning of November 10, Sergio and Laura Mattarella, accompanied by Abdulla Aripov, visited the New Uzbekistan Park and laid flowers at the base of the Independence Monument. Later, an official welcoming ceremony for Italian President Sergio Mattarella was held at the Koksaroy residence. Following the ceremony, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, held bilateral talks at the Koksaroy residence.
