On 8 April, Uzbekistan sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Humanitarian aid was delivered to one of the hubs in Zakarpathia region. This was reported on the website of the Zakarpathian Regional Military Administration.
According to Viktor Nikita, the Uzbek partners sent medicines, individual first aid kits, long-term storage products and other items.
"The cargo arrived by plane, and then was delivered to Zakarpathia. This proves once again the effectiveness of the logistics we have set up in a short period of time during a state of war. Humanitarian aid will be sent to the hot spots immediately." – the head of Regional Military Administration said.
Viktor Nikita thanked the government of Uzbekistan for the assistance and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Uzbekistan Nikolai Doroshenko for the coordination and effective humanitarian aid.
« I am sure that these contacts will allow us to interact more effectively», – the head of Zakarpathia said.
It should be recalled that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov said at the 24th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) that Tashkent would provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. He also stated that Uzbekistan would not recognize the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.
