Uzbekistan strengthens strategic partnership with Turkmenistan

At the end of the high-level negotiations between the delegations of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, a ceremony of signing and exchanging documents was held.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the declaration on deepening strategic partnership.

In addition, several documents aimed at expanding multifaceted Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan cooperation at the level of governments, ministries, and agencies of the two countries, including:

• Practical Action Plan for 2022-2024 on activation of political dialogue, inter-parliamentary, trade-economic cooperation, and cultural-humanitarian exchange between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan;

• Agreement on the further development of bilateral foreign economic relations;

• Agreement on regulating the activities of trading houses in the territories of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan;

• Agreement on scientific and technical cooperation;

• Plan of practical measures for further expansion of cooperation in the field of agriculture;

• An agreement on the registration of medicines and medical supplies was signed.

Agreements were also reached on electric power engineering, customs work, veterinary and animal husbandry, cinematography, and other areas.
