A special warehouse for Uzbek goods may be established at Pakistan’s Karachi Port. This was reported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

According to the report, an official visit of a delegation of Uzbek entrepreneurs to Karachi Port was organized in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan.

The main purpose of the visit was to expand export opportunities for Uzbek products and brands in international markets via the Karachi Port, improve logistics infrastructure, and develop new cooperation mechanisms.

During the visit, the Uzbek delegation met with port authorities and logistics companies, receiving detailed information on infrastructure, customs procedures, transit regulations, and cargo handling operations. Port officials noted that all necessary conditions are available for the reception and reloading of Uzbek goods.

A key proposal during the discussions was the creation of a dedicated warehouse for Uzbek goods within the port's territory. The port administration expressed strong interest in Uzbek exports such as textiles, fruits and vegetables, leather goods, chemicals, and construction materials, citing their growing international competitiveness.

Entrepreneurs were also introduced to the port’s container fleet, digital customs system, and cargo tracking technologies.

“The visit to the port of Karachi was an important step in strengthening economic ties between the two countries and opening new export routes for Uzbek goods. Practical work in this direction has already begun,” the Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated.

For reference, Karachi Port is the largest seaport in Pakistan and serves as a major logistics hub in South Asia. It handles millions of tons of cargo annually and plays a vital role in trade with markets across Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. Given its strategic location, the port holds significant importance for Uzbekistan’s international trade ambitions.
