Uzbekistan has expressed its concern over the recent launch of a carrier rocket by North Korea on the 31st of May, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press service.  The Tashkent International Viewpoint (TIV) has emphasized that this incident will inevitably lead to further escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

"We firmly support the abandonment of all types of weapons of mass destruction testing, as mandated by the resolutions of the UN Security Council.  The Uzbek side stands firmly behind proactive measures aimed at ensuring security on the Korean Peninsula, in pursuit of common prosperity and development," stated the press service.

It is worth mentioning that on the 31st of May, North Korea attempted to launch a rocket carrying its first intelligence satellite towards the Japanese island of Okinawa.

However, the DPRK administration has acknowledged that the satellite launch was unsuccessful, attributing the failure to issues with the rocket engines and the instability of the fuel.

The Washington administration has expressed its view that North Korea's missile launch poses an increased risk of destabilizing the situation not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also beyond.
