Uzbekistan finishes historic world championship in 1st place

15767Uzbek fighters claimed an impressive 12 medals at the first-ever World Mixed Martial Arts Championship for adults, held in Tashkent from November 5-10, securing 1st place in the overall team standings.
In the men’s competition, Jamshid Tillayev (-61.2 kg), Zafar Rashidov (-65.8 kg), and Asrorbek Anvarjanov (-97 kg) captured gold medals, while Karshi Usmonov won silver in the -52.2 kg category.
Bronze medals were awarded to Firdavs Hayitmatov, Shamshod Shukurov, Islombek Kodirov, and Humayiddin Mukhtorov in their respective categories. In the women’s division, Natalya Kadirova, Ogiloy Jumanova, Gulsara Kazakbaeva, and Mashhura Yoldosheva also took home bronze medals.
Eight Uzbek representatives competed in the finals among the youth division, where Uzbekistan’s youth team mirrored the success of the adults, finishing 1st in the overall team standings with a total of 18 medals.
Zafarjon Asatov, Mirjalal Orolov, Muzayana Sadriddinova, and Khurshida Rozikova were crowned world champions in their weight classes.
Additionally, Firdavs Atamuradov, Sarvarbek Hasanov, Rano Nasriddinova, and Mahliyo Abdumannopova earned silver medals. Bronze medalists included Shohjakhon Temirov, Ilhomjon Borisov, Suhrob Boymatov, Islombek Quvonchiev, Yusufboy Ahmedov, Muhsinjon Mominjonov, Odinakhon Abduganiyeva, Shohsanam Amaniyazova, and Khadichabonu Tursunkulova.
