14269On November 20, 2024, the body of a 24-year-old man was discovered in a canal in the Chilonzor district of Tashkent. The information was confirmed by Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office.
According to reports, on November 12, a citizen named S.Kh. called the emergency line 102 to report the drowning of a Russian national in the Anhor Canal near the Beshyogoch neighborhood. In response, an operational investigative team from the Chilonzor district police and emergency services inspected the scene and initiated efforts to locate the missing individual.
Separately, on November 13, a resident of Uchtepa district, identified as G.I., filed a missing person report for their 24-year-old son, A.B., who had left home on November 11 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The search came to a tragic conclusion on November 20 at 8:45 a.m., when the body of A.B. was found near Hydraulic Power Plant No. 4 on Beshyogoch Street.
The investigative materials related to A.B.'s disappearance and the discovery of his body have been transferred to the Uchtepa district prosecutor's office for further investigation.
This incident follows a similar case earlier this month in Fergana, where a 46-year-old man was found deceased in a ditch. Preliminary forensic findings indicated that mechanical asphyxiation caused by water blockage in the airways was the cause of death, with no injuries reported on the body.
