Lacetti collides with a bus in Tashkent

A traffic accident involving a Lacetti car and a passenger bus occurred in Tashkent’s Chilonzor district, according to a report from "Tashshahartranskhizmat."  

The incident took place on November 19 at approximately 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of Bunyodkor and Qatortol 2 streets. The collision involved bus No. 171 and resulted in injuries to one person.  

According to the report, the driver of the Lacetti, identified as M.Sh., failed to yield to the bus traveling on the main road despite the green traffic light, leading to the collision. The bus, driven by K.M., was moving along a secondary road at the time.  

As a result of the accident, a 66-year-old passenger of the car, identified as D.M., sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for first aid. Three passengers aboard the bus escaped unharmed. Both vehicles sustained technical damage.  

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.  

In a separate earlier incident in the Samarkand region, a bus struck and killed a minor pedestrian. A criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code for violating traffic rules, and the driver was detained under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
