4715In a historic first, Uzbekistan has been elected to the Administrative Council of the International Labor Organization (ILO) during elections held in Geneva. Uzbekistan secured the most votes from the European region, as reported by the press service of the Oliy Majlis Senate.
This milestone will allow Uzbekistan to present its proposals and ideas on improving labor relations at the international level.
"Our country now has the opportunity to actively engage in the development of advanced foreign experiences," the report stated.
Additionally, ILO's national partners, including those in charge of the employment system, trade unions, and employers, are expected to enhance their efforts in promoting the principles of decent work.
It is also noteworthy that Akmal Saidov, the director of the National Center for Human Rights in Uzbekistan, was recently elected to the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations.
