Uzbekistan appoints a new ambassador to Pakistan

4666Alisher Tokhtayev has been appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, according to the "Dunyo" news agency.
Before his appointment, Tokhtayev served as an advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Tokhtayev graduated from the Tashkent State Law Institute (now Tashkent State Law University) and has held several prominent positions, including roles within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President, and the Presidential Administration.
He also worked as a consultant and later as deputy chairman of the Association of Cotton and Textile Clusters of Uzbekistan. Alisher Tokhtayev's term as ambassador to Pakistan spans from 2021 to 2024, replacing Oybek Usmanov.
Additionally, it is worth noting that Bakhtiyor Ibragimov was recently appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan. Ibragimov previously served as the ambassador to the United Arab Emirates from 2019 to 2022 and held positions as the director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and deputy minister of tourism and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
