Uzbekistan’s paralympians begin competition with 2 medals

The women's S13 class 100-meter butterfly heats at the Paralympic Games, currently underway in Paris, have concluded.

Para-swimmer Muslima Odilova, who competed in this event, finished third in the final, securing a bronze medal for the Uzbek delegation.

This marks Muslima Odilova's second Paralympic Games medal. She previously reached the podium at the Rio 2016 Summer Paralympic Games, where she won two silver medals.

In the women's para-taekwondo competition in the -47 kg weight category, Uzbekistan’s Ziyodakhan Isokova faced Leonor Angelica Espinoza Carranza from Peru in the final.

Ziyodakhan missed her chance for gold with a score of 10:4, earning a silver medal instead.

Isokova advanced to the final after defeating neutral athlete Zakia Khudadadi in the quarterfinals and overcoming Thailand's Kwansu Puangkit in the semifinals.
