In May, Uzbekistan took the second place in the world among countries that sell gold.  This was reported by the World Gold Council.

It is said that Uzbekistan sold 11 tons of gold abroad, 5.5 times more than the indicators of Kazakhstan and Germany.  The first place was taken by Turkey with 63 tons.

It is reported that the active sale of the country’s gold-currency reserves can be explained by the previous policy of the Central Bank of Turkey to artificially support the national currency.  In June, the regulator’s refusal to change the exchange rate led to a sharp fall in the Turkish lira.

According to the data, Poland has become the main buyer of gold with 19 tons.  China is in second place with 16 tons.  The purchases of those in the next place did not exceed four tons.

For information, the gold and currency reserves of the world central banks decreased by 27 tons.  Compared to April, the trade of precious metals decreased more than twice.
