Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Nauru

2076On March 20, a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Nauru was signed in New York, USA, "Dunyo" reported.
The document was signed on behalf of the two governments by Uzbekistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov, and Nauru’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Lara Erab Daniel.
Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation within international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies.
"An agreement was reached to enhance bilateral relations and explore mutually beneficial areas of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The signing of this document marks an important step in deepening Uzbekistan’s engagement with foreign countries," the report states.
For reference, Nauru is the 159th country to establish diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan previously established diplomatic ties with the South American nation of Suriname.
