Uzbekistan announces squad for upcoming World Cup qualifier training camp

The Uzbekistan national football team will begin its next training camp on May 28. Head coach Timur Kapadze has announced the list of players who will take part in the preparations. This was confirmed by the press service of the Uzbekistan Football Association.
According to the announcement, the national team will continue its training camp in the United Arab Emirates starting May 29. As part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, Uzbekistan will face the UAE in an away match on June 5, followed by a home fixture against Qatar on June 10 at Bunyodkor Stadium.
The full squad called up by head coach Timur Kapadze for this training camp has been made public.

Uzbekistan’s match against the UAE will take place at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, kicking off at 21:00 Tashkent time. The match against Qatar will be played on June 10 and will begin at 18:45 Tashkent time.
The UAE vs. Uzbekistan match will be officiated by Australian referee Sean Evans. He will be assisted by George Lakrindis and Owen Goldrick, while Jonathan Barreiro will serve as the fourth official. Alexander King has been appointed as the VAR.
The Uzbekistan vs. Qatar match will be overseen by a Chinese officiating team. Ma Ning will be the main referee, supported by assistants Joyu Fei and Zhang Cheng. Jin Jingyuan will act as the fourth official, and Fu Ming will handle VAR duties.
Uzbekistan is currently in second place in Group A with 17 points from eight matches. The UAE and Qatar are in third and fourth place with 13 and 10 points, respectively. A draw against the UAE will be enough to secure Uzbekistan’s qualification for the World Cup.
