Uzbekistan sends humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

3147Following the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, humanitarian aid in the form of free medical examinations, essential food, and medicines has been sent to Afghanistan. This was reported by the press service of the Surkhandarya regional administration.
A total of 9 wagons of "Salomatlik" medical and sanitary aid have been dispatched to Afghanistan.
"Between December 25 and 30 of this year, a group of residents from the Balkh region of Afghanistan will undergo free medical examinations conducted by qualified Uzbek doctors," the report states.
The aid was provided following a request made during a meeting between the governments of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, which aimed to offer assistance in providing medical services to the Afghan people.
The humanitarian cargo was delivered under the supervision of Surkhandarya region Governor Ulugbek Kasimov, along with officials from the Ministries of Transport and Foreign Affairs, and Uzbekistan Railways JSC.
It is also important to recall that earlier, on President Mirziyoyev's instructions, a humanitarian convoy was delivered to the Balkh region of Afghanistan through the "Ayritom" border crossing to support the population affected by severe floods and provide essential equipment and food.
