The population of Uzbekistan has become richer since the beginning of the year

Citizens of Uzbekistan have become richer at a record level in the last three months.  This was revealed by the Statistics Agency in its report on the economic situation of the Republic of Uzbekistan between January-March 2023.

According to this, the real income of the population of Uzbekistan increased by 4.9% from January-March 2023 compared to last year.  That is, in the first quarter of 2022, a 5.9% increase was recorded, while in the corresponding period of this year, a 10.8% increase was observed.  This is a record growth in this period.

Compared to the corresponding period of the previous years, the real income of the population increased by 9.8% in 2021, 7.6% in 2020, 8.6% in 2019, 10.6% in 2018, and 9.3% in 2017.

As of January-March 2022, the total income of the population amounted to 114.2 trillion soms.  The 2023 report does not provide information on the amount of income of the population.

Also, the Gross Domestic Product increased by 5.5%, which is 0.6% lower than the corresponding period of the previous year.

It should be recalled that an analysis was published that it will take an average of 277 years for each citizen living in Uzbekistan to earn 1 million dollars.  Uzbekistan recorded one of the lowest results in the ranking of 102 countries.
