According to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a zero rate of customs duty will be applied to the import of cement until 2025.  Also, the import rate of six more groups of construction materials will be reduced to zero.  This is specified in the President’s Decree No. 51 of 13 April 2023 “On measures to implement the program of providing housing to the population through mortgage loans based on market principles.”

It was reported that from 1 May 2023 to 1 January 2025, the following construction materials and raw materials will be subject to a zero rate of customs duty:

•    Portland cement, alumina cement, slag cement, supersulphate cement or similar hydraulic cements, unpainted or painted cement, ready-made or clinker cement;
•    Wooden materials;
•    Glued plywood, plywood panels and analog layered wood;
•    Molds for pouring concrete;
•    Energy-efficient basalt coatings;
•    Heat polished glass and surface ground or polished glass.

We remind you that on 5 April of this year, a meeting dedicated to the discussion of the 2023 mortgage program was held under the chairmanship of the President, in which, in order to reduce the cost of construction in order to provide the population with affordable housing, the duty on the import of some construction materials was cancelled until 2025.
