The Republic of Uzbekistan welcomed the agreement reached, with the direct assistance of US President Donald Trump, to cease fire in the Gaza Strip and release hostages. This was stated in an official announcement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
’’We highly appreciate the coordinated efforts and significant role of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in this important process. These joint efforts are helping to swiftly end violence, alleviate the humanitarian crisis, and create conditions for the resumption of political dialogue,’’ the Foreign Ministry’s statement said.
The document also emphasizes that Uzbekistan consistently supports the establishment of a lasting and just peace in the Middle East based on the norms of international law and the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.
’’We are confident that the ceasefire is not a temporary measure, but an important step toward a long-term political solution aimed at ensuring security, establishing lasting solidarity, and restoring mutual trust between the parties.
The Republic of Uzbekistan once again reaffirms its readiness to make a constructive contribution to international efforts aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and humanitarian relief in the Middle East,’’ the statement said.
It should be noted that earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement had reached an agreement on the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan.
According to the agreement, the hostages will be released in the shortest possible time, and the Israeli armed forces will withdraw to a pre-designated line.
’’I am proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have approved the first phase of our peace plan,’’ Trump said.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also commented on the signing of the first phase of the peace plan between Israel and Hamas, expressing his support for the agreement reached on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages.
