Fraudsters who promised to secure enrollment in education for money were apprehended in the Syrdarya region and Tashkent city. This was reported by the Department of Combating Economic Crimes.

It was reported that as a result of a swift operation conducted by the Department of Syrdarya regional administrations, Citizen A.B. was apprehended along with another individual with physical evidence. They had gained the trust of G.S. and provided false documents stating that he was admitted to the medical university of a neighboring Republic of Kazakhstan. Later, they received 2,000 US dollars in exchange for facilitating his transfer to one of the private universities in Tashkent.

Similarly, Citizen U.K. was apprehended along with another individual with physical evidence. They had gained the trust of M.A. and fraudulently received 1,000 US dollars in exchange for facilitating his transfer from the University of Kyrgyz Republic to one of the private universities in Tashkent.

"In relation to these cases, criminal cases have been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) and Article 28, 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing," stated the department.

It is worth noting that earlier in the Boyovut district of the Syrdarya region, an individual attempting to fraudulently extort 4,000 dollars by promising to facilitate enrollment in education was apprehended.
