Uzbekistan's U-20 national team, currently competing in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup in China, will face South Korea in the quarterfinals, with a spot in the FIFA U-20 World Cup on the line.
South Korea secured a place in the knockout stage after a 1-1 draw against Japan in the third round of Group D, finishing as group winners. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan, despite losing to Iran in their final Group C match, advanced to the quarterfinals as runners-up.
Iran, which finished ahead of Uzbekistan, will face Japan in the quarterfinals. The winners of the quarterfinal matches will earn a place in the U-20 World Cup, set to take place in Chile next year.
