7363The 74th Congress of the International Football Association (FIFA) is currently taking place in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. In this context, a meeting was held with officials from the football associations of Turkic-speaking countries.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation between associations and implementing joint projects. This year, for the first time, an Under-16 tournament will be held in Turkey, featuring teams from four UEFA member countries—Hungary, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan—as well as youth teams from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic, which are part of the AFC. The decision to organize the tournament was confirmed.
It was noted at the meeting that this international tournament would attract significant interest from fans and serve as preparation for the annual U-17 World Cup.
Additionally, the officials discussed training football specialists and coaches, sharing mutual experiences, and establishing comprehensive cooperation between the football associations.
