Mirziyoyev and Erdogan congratulate each other on Eid al-Fitr

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan exchanged sincere congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, a sacred holiday for the entire Muslim community, during a telephone conversation on March 30. The heads of state wished peace and prosperity to their fraternal nations, according to the press service of the Uzbek president.  

"Current issues regarding the further development and strengthening of the Uzbekistan-Turkey comprehensive strategic partnership were discussed.  

It was noted with great satisfaction that active dialogues continue at all levels. The volume of trade and investments, the number of joint projects and enterprises, and the frequency of direct flights are increasing," the statement said.  

During the conversation, special attention was also given to preparations for the upcoming regular meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and the planned summit of the Organization of Turkic States.  

The importance of effectively organizing the upcoming Intergovernmental Commission meeting and joint business forum in Uzbekistan, as well as the visit of a delegation from the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to participate in the 150th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, was emphasized.  

The presidents also exchanged views on pressing international issues.  

Earlier, it was reported that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had received congratulatory messages from foreign heads of state and government, leaders of influential international and regional organizations, as well as prominent religious and public figures.
