A minor citizen of Uzbekistan who had been placed in a children’s home in Turkey has been returned to the country, Dunyo reported.
According to the report, the child’s mother gave birth at a local hospital in Turkey. However, she died shortly afterward due to illness. Following her death, the child was cared for over several years by Syrian and Uzbek women.
After some time, the child, who was left without parental care, was handed over to his aunt. However, due to the absence of any birth registration documents, the minor was forcibly placed by the state in a children’s home in Istanbul.
The children’s home administration rejected the aunt’s request to take the child under her guardianship, citing the lack of official documents confirming the child’s identity.
Following a series of negotiations between the Consulate General, the Embassy, and relevant Turkish authorities, and with the involvement of lawyers, a Turkish court issued a decision granting custody of the child to his aunt.
After the legal issues were resolved, the Consulate General issued return certificates for the child and his aunt, and they were returned to Uzbekistan.
Earlier, it was reported that a newborn baby abandoned by his mother in Russia had also been returned to Uzbekistan.
