On October 27, during a working visit of the Uzbek delegation to Ankara, a meeting was held at the Turkish Ministry of Interior to discuss the possible introduction of electronic visas for Uzbek citizens, the Dunyo news agency reported.

During the meeting, Turkey’s Deputy Minister of Interior Mehmet Oktaş emphasized that thanks to the efforts of the leaders of both countries, close cooperation has been established between Uzbekistan and Turkey, particularly in the field of internal affairs.

The Turkish side stated that it would consider granting Uzbek citizens who enter Turkey under other visa categories the opportunity to obtain a work permit without leaving the country.

It also expressed readiness to review the possibility of introducing electronic work visas for Uzbek citizens.

It is worth noting that earlier, Uzbekistan officially introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of six countries — Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
