Three Uzbek women who were forced into prostitution have been deported from Turkey. This was reported by Turk Haber.
In the Igdir region of Turkey, the General Prosecutor's Office, together with the Refugee and Organized Crime Department of the Regional Police, conducted a large-scale operation targeting human trafficking, prostitution, and drug-related crimes following a three-month investigation.
The operation revealed that foreign women were being forced to work in entertainment establishments in Igdir, recruited into prostitution, and provided with fake documents after their legal stay in the country had expired.
On May 24 of this year, law enforcement officers raided nine entertainment venues. Twelve suspects were detained, including one person who had provided information prior to the raid. Three of them were later released, while the remaining nine were prosecuted and taken into custody.
During the operation, a total of 107 women were deported, including 25 Azerbaijani, 78 Iranian, 1 Kyrgyz, and 3 Uzbek citizens, all of whom had been forced into prostitution.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Embassy of Uzbekistan provided assistance in repatriating a citizen who had been fraudulently taken to India and was at risk of becoming a victim of human trafficking.
