Tokayev awards Farrukh Zakirov

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated Farrukh Zakirov, People’s Artist of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, on his 80th birthday, according to the Akorda press service.

“Thanks to your natural talent, tireless energy, and exceptional dedication, you have earned the sincere admiration of millions of fans around the world. Your art has for many years united representatives of different generations and nations. In Kazakhstan, you are highly appreciated for your unique voice and for the famous songs performed by the legendary Yalla Ensemble, which has become a cultural phenomenon of an entire era,” the message said.

For his significant contribution to the development of culture and music, as well as for strengthening friendship between nations, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded Farrukh Zakirov the second-degree “Dostyk” (Friendship) Order.

For reference, Farrukh Zakirov holds the title of People’s Artist of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan, as well as of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, and Ingushetia.

It is worth noting that on April 15, a ceremonial event marking Zakirov’s 80th birthday was held at the Kuksaroy residence with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During the event, he was awarded the “For Outstanding Services” Order for his long-standing contributions to the development of Uzbek national art and culture.
