Ministry of Transport warns of temporary closure at Salang Pass

Repair work is currently underway at the Salang Pass in Afghanistan, prompting a temporary closure of the route. The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued a formal warning in this regard.
According to Afghan authorities, starting June 10, the movement of heavy cargo vehicles through the Salang Pass will be temporarily suspended due to ongoing maintenance.
Transport companies planning to carry out international cargo deliveries via this route are advised to take the closure into consideration.
The Ministry of Transport has recommended using alternative transport corridors for shipments to Pakistan and its ports during this period.
