Trump’s Uzbekistan-born adviser to visit Tashkent

Sergio Gor, the U.S. President’s Special Representative for South and Central Asia, will visit Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan together with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau from October 26 to 30 this year, the U.S. Department of State announced.

During the visit, Gor and Landau are expected to meet with officials from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to discuss a wide range of economic and security issues.

“The United States continues to strengthen its cooperation with Central Asian nations and expand trade and economic ties. We look forward to further developing our bilateral partnerships and celebrating the 10th anniversary of the C5+1 diplomatic platform between the United States and Central Asia,” the statement said.

For reference, Sergio Gor was born on November 30, 1986, in Tashkent and later pursued his education in the United States. He has been active within the Republican Party, serving in various positions on Donald Trump’s team and is known as one of his close associates. Gor previously served as Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office and played key roles in several political campaigns. On August 22, 2025, Donald Trump nominated him as U.S. Ambassador to India. He currently serves as the Special Representative for South and Central Asia.

It is worth noting that on September 22, 2025, during the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Sergio Gor at his residence.
