Trump's envoy arrives in Tashkent to celebrate Independence day with Mirziyoyev

The US Special Envoy for Global Partnerships, Paolo Zampolli, arrived in Uzbekistan today, August 28. He held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

"Had a great meeting with H.E. Paolo Zampolli, Special Envoy of the U.S. President for Global Partnerships. We spoke about building stronger bridges between our peoples, from education and culture to innovation and business. There is great untapped potential to bring our communities even closer together.

Our talks also touched on several topics of regional and global importance with a shared vision of working together for a more prosperous future", said Saidov on his Telegram channel.

Special Envoy Zampolli is advancing President Trump’s bold vision for strengthening America’s global partnerships. His mission is clear: to promote America’s achievements, highlight the values that have made the United States the greatest nation in the world, and build strong ties that support the power and potential of US diplomacy. The Special Envoy looks forward with great anticipation to establishing new connections with Uzbekistan’s cultural figures and institutions to showcase America’s unparalleled creativity, outlook, and leadership.

During this historic visit, the Special Envoy Zampolli is expected to join President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in celebrating Uzbekistan’s Independence Day. He will also attend the grand opening ceremony of American Corner Tashkent, an impressive new center for learning about the United States and its values, together with US Ambassador Jonathan Henick. In addition, the Special Envoy Zampolli will meet with Uzbekistan’s Olympic champions and congratulate the national football team on its upcoming visit to the United States to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“We are pleased that this year, at the Independence Day celebrations in Tashkent, the United States will be represented at the highest level. Special Envoy Zampolli’s visit reaffirms an enduring truth: the United States stands as a trusted partner to Uzbekistan, committed to mutual respect, prosperity, and a successful future,” Henick said.
