Mirziyoyev holds talks with Trump

On September 23, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with President of the United States Donald Trump. The meeting took place at the UN headquarters during the 80th session of the General Assembly.

The two leaders discussed in detail the priorities for further expanding the Uzbek–US strategic partnership. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues, as well as the implementation of agreements reached during their telephone conversation on September 5 of this year.

At the start of the talks, the Uzbek Head of State sincerely congratulated President Trump on his achievements in domestic and foreign policy. Mirziyoyev highlighted Trump’s personal contribution to efforts aimed at peacefully resolving acute international and regional conflicts.

In response, the US President reiterated his support for Uzbekistan’s irreversible reforms, which focus on modernizing the economy, improving the well-being of the population, and strengthening the international standing of New Uzbekistan.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the rapid development of political dialogue and exchanges at various levels, as well as the activation of business ties.

President Trump highly valued the results of Mirziyoyev’s meetings the previous day with the heads of more than 50 major US companies and banks. A portfolio of agreements and promising projects was formed in civil aviation, mining, critical minerals, finance, innovation, chemistry, energy, and other key sectors. These initiatives are expected to create tens of thousands of new jobs in both countries.

At the conclusion of the talks, President Mirziyoyev invited Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a time convenient for him. The meeting was described as open, constructive, and friendly.

It should be noted that earlier, President Trump praised the contract signed by Mirziyoyev with Boeing, writing on his Truth Social platform that the Uzbek leader is “a man of one word.”
